Submission Guidelines

Home Submission Guidelines

Rules and Regulations:

  1. The author(s) must send the article (not exceeding 8,000 words including references), the name(s), designation(s), valid email address(es), and a brief bio in third person of each author (not exceeding 200 words), in a SINGLE DOCUMENT FILE (.doc/.docx).
  2. The Authorship Responsibility Form must be submitted as a separate file (.doc/.pdf). The template can be downloaded here.
  3. The author(s) must follow the MLA (9th) referencing style.
  4. The manuscript must contain the following: (i) a valid and unique title, (ii) author(s) details, (iii) an abstract, (iv) relevant keywords, (v) Introduction, (vi) main body in chapters, (vii) Conclusion, (viii) Works Cited list.
  5. The article should be formatted thus:
  • Font: Times New Roman, Size- 14 for title and 12 for body.
  • Author(s): Name(s), Designation(s), Email(s).
  • Abstract: no more than 200 words.
  • Keywords: 3-5.
  • Total article length: A minimum of 3000 words to a maximum of 8000 words.
  • Works Cited (minimum 10) & List of Figures (if any) in alphabetical order.
  • Indent each paragraph after the introductory one. Only the paragraphs beginning immediately after a subheading will not be indented.
  • Italicize titles of books, journals, news media, and government designations. Put titles of book chapters and titles of journals, magazines, or newspaper articles within “quotations marks.”
  • Use double quotation marks for quotes. If the sentence ends with a quote, please put the period mark/proper punctuations after the quote.
  1. Articles are welcome in English, Hindī, Bāṅglā (Bengali), Marāṭhī, and Saṁskṛta (Sanskrit). The authors can feel free to mix up any of the four languages if situation is deemed necessary for the enhancement of argumentation/authenticity. However, if the article is written in English and uses words/quotes from other languages, English synonyms/translations must be provided. For transliteration, please use IAST method. Moreover, we strongly encourage IAST transliteration of each Indic words written in English.
  2. The article must only be mailed to submission.josd@indusuni.ac.in and nowhere else. Please do not send the article to the personal emails of the editors. Please do not keep anyone in the CC/BCC list when you submit the article. Each submission will be acknowledged within 2-3 working days.
  3. The author(s) must not send the manuscript submitted to this journal for publication in other journal(s) and vice versa. We strongly discourage simultaneous submission.
  4. We follow a strict ANTI-PLAGIARISM POLICY. Each article will undergo a plagiarism check through the Turnitin iThenticate software. A relaxation of upto 10% similarity is permissible to the author(s). is The author must provide due credit to the sources borrowed, cited works, and references. The author must not plagiarize anyone else’s work, wholly or partially. The author(s) alone shall be responsible for any act of plagiarism or undue citation. The journal shall not bear any responsibility for such unscrupulous acts and the author(s) alone must face the consequences. If any such act is brought to the notice of our editor(s), the author will be penalized, the article(s) will be removed, and he/she/they will be banned for all future publications.
  5. In queries, urgent cases, and matters not listed, the Editor-in-Chief may be contacted for resolutions. The decision of the Editor-in-Chief will be final in such cases.

Review Process:

Each submitted article will undergo a strict double-bind peer review process. It will take around two to four weeks for the peer review to complete. The reviewers will then channelize their opinions to the editor(s). If the reviewers suggest modification and the editors find valid grounds for modification or amendment, the article will be sent back to the author(s) for the aforesaid. The author will be given a stipulated time period to make necessary changes and send the updated version. The editor(s) will then make a final proofreading and analyze the article before taking the final call regarding the acceptance or rejection of the article. The author will be notified of the same.

Publication Procedure:

If the article is accepted, the author will be communicated once the article is published. Each article will be assigned a DOI and indexed in our subscribed/enlisted databases. Once published, the copyright of the article shall be transferred to the journal. The author is forbidden to send or republish the article elsewhere. However, if the author(s) feel the need to reproduce some section(s)/paragraph(s) of the article, the author is requested to write to us, seeking permission.

Note: We DO NOT CHARGE the author(s) for publication. We do not provide any remuneration to the published author(s) either. Academic merit is the only criterion to get published in our journal. Please refrain from requesting for publication showing personal contacts. We do not entertain such requests.

Terms and Conditions:

  1. The published contents are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-Non-Commercial 4.0 International License. Anybody can share any material for non-commercial purposes.
  2. Authors and others can archive contents of the journal following the Creative Commons Attribution-Non-Commercial 4.0 International License for academic and non-commercial purposes.
  3. In case of copyright violation or/and plagiarism solely the author/s will remain responsible and the Journal of Sanātana Dharma cannot be held responsible and allied as a party to those cases.
  4. No change of authorship is permissible.
  5. In cases of conflict, the issue might be brought into the notice of the Editor-in-Chief.
  6. The Editor-in-Chief will take the final call in cases of conflict.
  7. Authors and contributors should understand that the journal authority reserves the right to change/modify the terms and conditions of the journal at any time.
